- 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 cup potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a bowl, toss the beef with flour, salt, and pepper.
