A delicious homemade spaghetti sauce made with turkey bacon, perfect for any pasta dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook turkey bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove and chop.
  2. Add olive oil to the skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add chopped bacon back into the skillet.
  5. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve over cooked spaghetti.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add red pepper flakes.
  • This sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated.
