2 cups elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and flour, stirring for 2 minutes until well combined.
Gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until thickened.
Stir in the heavy cream, Gruyère, mozzarella, salt, and pepper until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
Add the drained macaroni and mix until well coated.
Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For extra flavor, top with additional cheese and broil until bubbly.
