6 apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
1 pie crust
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
Cover with another pie crust, sealing the edges.
Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Bake for 15 minutes; reduce the heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes or until apples are soft and crust is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
For a thicker filling, you can add additional flour.
